1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Umai! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Umai mobile application ("App," "Service," or "we"). By creating an account or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

3.1 Account Creation

To use Umai, you must:

• Create an account using a valid email address or Google OAuth
• Choose a secure password (if using email registration)
• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Keep your account credentials confidential

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Not sharing your account with others

6.1 Subscription Tiers

Umai offers the following subscription options:

• Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
• Payment is processed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

6.3 Cancellation and Refunds

• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• You will retain access to premium features until the end of your billing cycle
• Refunds are subject to Apple and Google's refund policies

8. User Content

8.1 Content Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you upload to Umai (photos, videos, notes, etc.). However, by uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and display your content within the App
• Process your content to provide AI features (e.g., face recognition)
• Backup your content for data recovery purposes

8.2 Content Restrictions

You agree that your uploaded content will NOT contain:

• Illegal, harmful, or exploitative material
• Content that violates others' rights (copyright, privacy, etc.)
• Viruses, malware, or malicious code
• Spam, advertising, or promotional content

8.3 Content Monitoring

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to monitor, review, and remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.

9. Intellectual Property

The Umai App, including its design, features, code, and Umai mascot, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may NOT copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written permission.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Third-Party Services

Umai integrates with third-party services (Supabase, Azure OpenAI, Google OAuth). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies:

12. Limitation of Liability

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Umai, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you upload to the App
• Actions taken based on AI-generated advice

14. Termination

14.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Going to App Settings → Account → Delete Account
• Emailing us at support@parentingai.app

14.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your account is inactive for more than 2 years
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the service (with 30 days notice)

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Subscription fees are non-refundable upon termination.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15.2 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Jakarta, Indonesia, in accordance with Indonesian arbitration law.

15.3 Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or breach of confidentiality obligations.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms in the App
• Sending an email notification
• Showing an in-app notification

Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
